16.08.2019 – the recycling of PET bottles is an extension of the Russian waste disposal company
MAG Group‘s recycling activities and is a consistent step towards a circular economy. The HERBOLD washing plant is being installed in Nizhniy-Novgorod at the MAG daughter company Fantastik-Plastik.

The MAG Group has been active as a conventional waste disposal company and is running a modern sorting plant for domestic waste, commissioned in 2018 After a consultancy and planning phase of several years, the company decided to also follow new paths with the recycling of PET by processing themselves the sorted fraction of PET bottles. The washing plant with hot wash will go into regular operation in Nizhniy-Novgorod in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Company director Sergej Khalevskij summarises the aims: “We are pursuing a clear vision: processing of the sorted PET fraction into high-quality PET flakes is a crucial step towards making
plastic waste available again as raw material.”
The output of the new HERBOLD washing plant is 1500 kg/hour.
After successful development of the distribution channels, a further extension of the plant is already planned. MAG is a pioneer in the development of a modern circular economy in Russia.
