The EWS series Herbold single-shaft shredder is a further development of the standard HR series shredders for high throughputs and difficult tasks.

Drive system

  • Drive via countershaft drive, without fault-prone gearbox, resulting in optimum protection against damage due to foreign bodies
  • Energy savings due to the high inertia of the pulleys under shock load

  • Rotational speed variants easily configurable

Cutting system

  • Rotor roller with variable knife configuration in easily replaceable knife cassettes

  • Oversize spherical roller bearings mounted in external steel pillow block bearings completely separated from the grinding chamber

Shredder construction

  • Heavy welded steel construction, designed for heavy-duty applications
  • Replaceable grinding chamber, in the event of wear or damage, the shredder can rapidly be brought back into operation with a replacement housing
  • Feed stamp of strong construction with replaceable wear plates
  • PLC controls with programmable feed
  • Hydraulically swivelling screen cage, fast, convenient screen changing

Machines

EWS-R

Pipes up to a diameter of 1000 millimetres and start-up lumps are pre-shredded with the shredders of the EWS-R series. The pipes are fed from the side into a feed trough upstream of the shredder. The material feed takes place controlled by the load by means of a hydraulic stamp.
