Planta de reciclaje de botellas de PET de un único proveedor

Coperion y Herbold Meckesheim colaboran tecnológicamente en la construcción de una planta completa para el reciclaje «Bottle to Bottle» a partir de un único proveedor para el fabricante indio de envases de plástico y preformas, Magpet Polymer Pvt Ltd. Además del procesamiento mecánico completo de las botellas de PET usadas, el sistema de reciclaje abarca todos los pasos del proceso liderados por el sistema de extrusión, con una extrusora de doble husillo ZSK, incluido el sistema de peletizado y el reactor SSP (Solid State Polycondensation).

At this year’s Chinaplas (23-26 April 2024, National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Hongqiao, Shanghai, PR China) Coperion will present key technologies for processing plastics at Booth F 106 in Hall 2.1.

100 metric tons of PET recyclate per day

The first truck has left the yard. Another 20 will follow. They will deliver the newest washing line from Herbold Meckesheim to Kırklareli, Türkiye, almost 2,100 kilometers away. There, in the European part of Türkiye, the latest recycling plant of the Meckesheim-based special machinery manufacturer is being built for the company Doğa.

Coperion Recycling Innovation Center is Up and Running

Coperion has successfully launched operation of its new Recycling Innovation Center. In this high-tech test center for plastics recycling applications, every recycling process step – from material handling and feeding to extrusion, compounding, pelletizing, material postprocessing and deodorization – can be tested. Extensively equipped recycling systems are available that can be modified in myriad ways, depending upon the specific requirements of the recyclate to be produced.

Growing markets, higher throughputs

Herbold Meckesheim is reporting an excellent order situation for PET and film washing lines towards the end of the current fiscal year. Towards the end of the US fiscal year, because since last summer Herbold belongs to the US group Hillenbrand Inc. Last October, a separate Recycling Business Unit was set up under the umbrella of Hillenbrand with the machinery building company Coperion to cover the entire process chain of plastics processing. This gives the Meckesheim-based plant manufacturer an even stronger basis and more impetus for its steady growth.

A life for plastics recycling

After 40-plus years of dedicated service, Werner Herbold, Managing Director, has entered a planned retirement. Mr. Herbold served as managing director and co-owner of Herbold Meckesheim, a recycling company that specializes in equipment and systems for the plastics industry.
